Sometimes I'm Sorry Means I Love You by J. P. DaviesSometime's it's enough
to tell you "I'm sorry."
But sometimes those words
just don't come out.
What comes is "I love you."
Newsflash over me...
My scalp is levitated as
my eyebrows bound
in astonishment...
The words shape-shift when
I hear understanding
in a voice that is peace
and content bound in
reserved fear-of-love
As the concrete wall
that was my heart
bounces back the tennis balls
that are the throws and twirls
of a love so huge it dwarfs
the rebellious soul
of a once-upon player
emphatically empathising
with my soul-sucking
self-righteousness
I am loathed and loved
by any and all
You can capture all that is me.
And still I will reciprocate, with
words to tear your ventricles.
Aflaming desires that
burn your defences bare
and open your aorta
to stabs of affection
that make you lose
empowerment of all
your traps and snares.
You're mine...

Posted by Jolie Jordan on 12/02/03 at 07:05 AM I like this, quite alot. the title brought me to this, and I'm glad. (the only thing I have to say is, in the last line, I think you meant "you're" instead of "your".) just a thought:) |
Posted by Maureen Glaude on 12/02/03 at 03:32 PM wow. buyer beware! this really spoke to me of some experiences in life. Intriguing psychological and dark statement, well-written. |
