Starless

by Christopher Shin

Stars each blink desperately
to hold on to their very dreams.
Each with a glimmer of hope
and desire to become something
more then who they are.

So I ponder with their
desire will they hunt
the fields of their dreams.
Will they slaughter their
own children to become
what they want?

They stare with arrogant eyes,
and grin with false beliefs.
I ponder if they would really
care for people who are below
them.

Will they shead a tear for
someone who would bleed
infront of them with empty
hopes?

Slowly I wish I could just
have them glimmer and fade,
but I know I would not be
better then the stars that
burn over me.
