Piery's Shore VII (November)

by Leonard M Hawkes

Gray, White, Green,
Mauve, and Ochre:
In subdued November lateness
With threatening restless
Stir of Wintry Air,
The Afternoon cowers
Awaiting Snow;

And dozing in-and-
Out of Poetry,
I await the Flotsam,
Gathering up more
Driftwood for the fire.
