It's When

by J. P. Davies

It's too bad that I couldn't be your one true hope.
it's not fair that I can seldom if ever see you.
it's not clear if we'll ever be together.
but it's plain to see I might never be over you.

When words are said and meant can you recall them?
When your soul is touched can you repent?
When love has left your heart do you feel empty?
well you shouldn't because your love was heaven sent

If I fall apart right here would you notice?
If I take the short way out would you care?
If the road less travelled is paved with broken hearts
will you take my hand and guide me anywhere?

Do the words I say make a difference in your head now?
Do you know that loves a game without rules?
Do you think that I could ever make you love me?
or does my touch conjur ghosts and gouls?

Is your stomach turning now as you read this?
Is this just the crying of a silly boy?
Is the switch of love in the off position?
Is it just out of the reach of this small boy?

It's just that, the games we played were fun didn't you notice?
when the world was bleak you were my shining light
If you ask me now "Could we make it in this place?"
Do you think that I would answer "Nevermore"?
Is the world too big for two star-struck lovers?

Or...Maybe...Someday...I'll Find You...

AT>>>MY>>>DOOR...

The poem is really good, a strong, emotional one. But the authors note makes it seem very impersonal, like neither girl matters.
