as a goodnight kiss

by Emily Davidson

the art of
a single-finger
connect-the-dots
over flesh covered curves and bends.
playing me like the
notes you've mastered
and leaving me like
a piece incomplete.
as your bloodflow moves throughout your veins
i can feel its crimson massacre
as unfinished as a goodnight kiss.
you'll leave my mouth
sweet, sour, salty, and spicy
and no mint can mute that taste.
