a simple expression

by Emily Davidson

she likes compliments.
you don't say them -
but you act them out with every kiss and
every one of those
i-could-use-a-girl-like-you smiles.
like some desperate graveyard moth
to a bare light bulb
you love to crash into her.
if you don't mind my request,
could i have a yes or a no?
if i can't have all of you,
could i atleast have some part?
don't kiss me with that mouth,
i know where it's been.
