Wanna Start Over? by Siri LipscombCreeping silently into our room
Midnight journal retrieval
Recording the passing whimsy
The shame of bad behavior
My latest bitch
Girl-scribble on pink parchment
I found you there in deep slumber
As anticipated
Gentle breathing, a faint moan
Guided in dreams by plaguing visions
Your arms outstretched
Toward my empty pillow
Seeking our connected comfort
The bed awash in moonlight
Drenching your sleeping hulk in
Blue light and shadow from the
Rapidly shifting autumn clouds
My clumsy pawing in the darkened
Corner reserved for clediments
Aroused your subconscious
Into which you retreated even deeper
The once-outstretched arms
Enfolding and protecting
In guarded Sumo pose
Holding yourself safe
I had no admittance to this dream
Filling with awe of you even in sleep
Your kind and giant loving ways
Melted my freeze-dried heart
Reconstituting this shriveled muscle
Into a beating, living possibility again

Posted by Max Bouillet on 11/21/03 at 11:22 PM There are points in our lives when there is a change... you captured this in verse. A change in attitude may be an internal shift, but it occurs in a physical location. You mesh both in a wonderful way. |
