blessed child

by Michele Schottelkorb

into the blessed faerie realm we go

to the place we’ve grown to know

my precious angel bestowed to me

my little daughter, no longer three

today, on this beautiful night

i sing to you with lovely sight

a four year old princess of love

hear thoughts from your adoring dove

i love you, my baby, full of joy

play with your ponies and every toy

i honor you, my little Audrey dear

i am your mommy, i’m always here

through the thick and the thin

be true and kind, you’ll always win

i’m so proud of all you are

you light my days, both near and far

Author's Note: my daughter's 4th birthday was yesterday... i read this poem aloud to her before she opened her gifts... she stared at me the entire time, then threw her arms around me and told me thank you when i finished... it should be titled "blessed mommy"

So tender and so warm... my youngest soon turned four in October and it is a special time. We truly are the blessed for having such special angels in our lives.
