Silent Night

by Jane E Pearce

Christmas lights and wreaths
lighten hearts in homes and streets.
Carolers sing the Holy songs
as a heart secretly longs
for one in the dark, alone,
away from the mirth,
deep in the earth,
under a snow capped stone.
