Apprehension by Beth K HannahWind tosses around my hair
You seem unsure if to go in for the kill
Or wait until I beg you.
Slowly my hand circles yours,
And your empty one finds my waist.
Nothing is as splendid as this moment
Of pure excellence.
It is increased by your soft kiss,
Low murmer of my name,
And tightening of your hands.
I find even sunsets pale in comparison.
Skittering and running,
Into one week and three days.
My happiness tested once,
And quickly you apoligized.
No one understands my unbridled glee,
Or sentences I can barely form,
To describe these ten days.
I fear the day,
My eyes wander,
And your love begins to flee.
You will leave me, lose me, break my name,
I will curse your name, write it in vain, and
Scald your skin with my petulant words.
Those days are barely glimpsed on the horizon,
But haunt the back of my mind,
Alongside the feeling of your skin next to mine. 11/17/2003 Author's Note: Ten days, locker room slander, drunken kisses, fermented potatoes named Nikolai, singing Rancid songs, hand holding, soft kisses, and the ever made insult of "dork."
Yep...this is about Jamie and I. Yep...
