I'll be him

by Aaron Howard

How do I describe these feelings I have for you in tangible words?
How do I grasp at your heartstrings without standing in the herds?
How do I show all these loves and joys to you without failing?
How do I follow this beast in pursuit as I’m trailing..

I could resort to emotions and how I feel…
But you might misconstrue what’s real..

Show I’ll show my actions in patience and virtue
Since maybe that’s the only way, I’ll come to know you..
See these dreams wandering around in your eyes…
And I’ll be your happy years good morning surprise..
I’ll be the one who can’t stand to see you cry…
I’ll be the one, with who, can grow old and die…
I’ll be there waiting on the sunbeams
And hiding away in your dreams…

I’m the one in a million you’ve herd about…
And I know this, without a doubt..

I won’t lie, cheat or steal…
Never taint something that is real…

Times may be sad, times may be hard..
But I’ll sign my name on that surprise card..
I’ll be the one with whom you dream at night…
And I’ll hold you close, when you don’t feel alright..
I’ll tell you my dreams and how you’re in them..
And when you’ll talk about me, I’ll be him…
