Unfolding

by Leslie Ann Eisenberg

Diving into nothing
Dining on drama
Silly games?
All done

A door opened
and this time
I stepped through my
core beliefs
leaving them for dead

This new place only has
windows of felt blue

Here
Thirsty
My blood runs faster

Here
lies salvation
Open eyes
Slippery skin
A flower peeling
open to the sunrise

Inhibtions drop and the adventure begins. Suggestive and yet the main character has taken responsibilty for her own actions and greets the encounter in readiness. Exquisite verse with wonderful imagery!

Wonderful imagery Leslie. Sounds like great determination to leave the past and start with a new positive beginning.

the title drew me in with curiousity...and every well placed word held me captive! Very Well Done...

I love poems like these, well written words with lots of imagery and no fluff. The font was somewhat difficult to read I feel it enhances the over all effect.

Full of energy, subtle and steady. Many wonderful images and sensations here.

escaping my core beliefs came when combat and death greeted me, and I immediately had another set of core beliefs, more thought out, less subject to my own whims of what others wanted me to be, for me ....it was a good trade. hope yours was/is for you can always get another set if the ones you have suit you not. excellent poem
