Dreamed of a Kiss

by Melina Raven Maness Diebold

I dreamed of a kiss

that I blew to you

I dreamed that I missed

it went right over you

It sank through the mist

of the efferescent dew

Caused my heart to reminisce

Of the days of me and you

Our joys were a list

though oft I was blue

Made my insides twist

Thinking back on you

I strangled the kiss in my fist

In honor of the things you do

I felt its energy dismiss

and then my lips began to rue

Anger tremored down through my wrist

I picked up a pen and drew

a singular smile that hissed

a caricature of you

The fruit of Fall and Summer's Tryst

and dainty-lacy frost fell through

the frigid air full and amiss

with wint'ry memories of you

Author's Note: i put it under ghazal as it's almost one. The first 2 lines need to rhyme, but the rest goes right.

The flow of this verse is extraordinary. The meshing of nature with matters of the heart is masterfully intricate. Great read.

I agree, great read and well written. It flows so smoothly and eloquently.

This reminds me of a song by Good Charlotte called "Seasons". You love someone no matter what the season, that love never changes.
