Dulzura

by Kitty Ness

Like hands
splitting the skin
of a banana;
I’m still green inside,
but how quickly
we turn black
breathing in our own air.

Fruit;
not a flower,
planted in a garden,
but I would try
and use my syrup
like a spider’s strand
to bind you down.

Lots of very unique images, Kit, I like them a lot. The tone rounds out the flavor of this quite nicely. I couldn't help but picture one of those giant banana spiders that scare the hell out of me... Speaking of which, the last lines have a wicked bite... Thank you for sharing this... {m}
