Waiting for You

by Thomas K. Hunt

I wait for the sun to rise up from the ocean
I wait for your touch
I wait for everything about you
But I wait too much

Waiting for you

Your love seems like a dream now
And now I am awake
Am I wrong to give you my heart?
Is it my mistake?

Waiting for you

I need to remember
I need to forget
These needs make me stronger
But I’m not stronger yet

Waiting for you

Your voice is a wave in the distance
Your face, a picture I hold
Your heart is folded in resistance
Will it ever unfold?

Waiting for you

I go through the motions
I still breathe everyday
But I’m void of emotions
I can’t go on this way

Waiting for you

I wait for the sun to rise up from the ocean
I wait for your touch
I wait for everything about you
But I wait too much

Waiting for you

Masterfully woven verse that speaks of a resilience of spirit. Great words that flow as smoothly as a song. Great read.

Sometimes the wait (weight) is more than you think you can bare... What is it about a poem like this that is so poingent.. so bittersweet that it makes one want to smile and cry at the same time... Beautifly Written!

I see that you wrote this a very long time ago... (I hope you're not still waiting!) This is a very well crafted piece and it flows beautifully. The message is one that we can all relate with.. that feeling of needing to let go but not wanting to. You captured that well here. Nicely done!
