Life and Death

by Shayla R Cakes

Charlotte was right.
Life really has no meaning
And no rhyme or reason
The only thing to depend upon
Is the change of season
And the fact that someday
We're all going to die
And we really shouldn't
Ever ask why
From the moment we're born
We strive to succeed
We have goals and aspirations
But where does it lead?
It all makes no difference
The outcome doesn't change
The end result for everyone
Is always the same

No one's truly different
No matter how they try
Because we're all going to end up the same
We're all going to die.

Buck up and accept it
Reality doesn't lie
We're all going to end up the same
We're all going to die.
