she sits (but never lies) by Mainon A Schwartzshe's wide awake and spilling over like a bathtub left unchecked; his curses trickle down her legs, and now the carpet's wrecked.
he screams at her with headlights on: the glare molests her eyes. her muteness speaks of guilt and shame, so she sits-- but never lies. 11/07/2003 Author's Note: Just tell me if you see it... the picture in my head is so strong. I'm not thrilled with the last two lines (and the first six? maybe, maybe not.)

Posted by Matt Forget on 11/08/03 at 01:29 AM Hmm very interesting..I like this one..."the glare molests her eyes"...it's just so wow...i mean to think that a glare can do that...but i can see what you mean here in some light because when i drive down the road at night against light from a car...it kills my eyes...but anyway..moving on..great piece..love the form, the imagery and the tone of the piece. keep up the great work! |
