Seppuku

by John Ilotan

Kneeling before you
i plead
a suplicant

and with swift
samurai strokes
i slice myself
open
from abdomen to sternum
quickly
spilling my insides out
on a cold white floor
a steaming evisceral mess
displayed at your feet
staining your pretty-painted
toenails

all for your pleasure
and enjoyment

Yes, there are those times when you have to open yourself up and lay everything out there....love the imagery...well done

i always love your magic words ... in this case, magic seems tragic.

My mind went immediately to Yukio Mishima's "Patriotism." This is very vivid, very visceral.
