Black

by Christopher Shin

When did the wind get to
become so bitter in my mind?
Even though the sun burns
high in the sky above me
I still see only black.

I don't know why they smile
at me or try to pass me
by a couple times as I
stagger down the empty rows.
I don't know why they
want to catch my eye.

Do they not realize the
darkness in my soul?
Do they not know that
I can only bring them pain.
Or am I just being a little
over reactive.

I think I am for who would want
a creature that could not
see the light or possibly
dwell in the positive?

All my humors and attraction
pulls me away from this dreaded
thing that burns so bright in
the sky.

I don't know what to say,
and I can't no predict the future
but I know that I have a clue
or a glimmer of my doomed
fate.

To be alone.
