Striving to be Average...

by J. P. Davies

So lovely
So Happy
Such a smart one
Such a strong one
She is everything you wish you could be
She is the mark to which you set your goal

But

She doesn't think she's beautiful
She's crying when you can't see
She can't always know the answer
Feels as weak as meek can be
She doesn't want to be the one
up on that pedestal
She'd rather you left her alone
She can't stand your adoring gaze
Yes she'd rather just be average
and live a hidden life
where she's not a golden idol
or even above the par
she just wants to be the girl she is
and not your shining star
because now she's average
now she blends
it's her life
and her dream
to be with people who were like her
the cream above the cream
but now they blend together
and are fantasic as a whole
she blends in with the crowd now
and her new life was just her goal

Author's Note: I wrote this poem for the girl that cried in my arms when the world was a weight and is now so happy to be away from all of those pressures and finally where she fits...

Oh wow Jordan. This is amazing, I almost cried when I read it.
