do you ever (strong language) by Michele Schottelkorbdo you ever wonder
what could have been
had you made different choices?
do you ever think about
dying before your time
and who would come to your funeral?
do you ever wish
the voices would stop
for just one fucking second?

Posted by Max Bouillet on 11/05/03 at 11:31 PM Regret and the "What If's" constantly plague the human condition.... release and realize that all that happens has happened to make you who you are and that is beautiful. Great verse. |
Posted by Don Coffman on 11/07/03 at 09:08 AM I really enjoy poems like this that present ideas that are, on the surface, seemingly simple and common. They're things we all think about but rarely seriously ponder. Looking at the concept of dying as change rather than ending, eventually the troubles can be overcome. |
Posted by Ashok Sharda on 11/21/03 at 02:40 AM I wish if one can see the meaninglessness of these choices since the law of cause and effect is always on the job. If there was no cause there wont be any effect. If there was no past there wont be any present. Its the ACTION alone which is capable of creating new causes, which may bring positive 'effects' subject to the law of accident. The frustration and the anger is so well expressed. Helplessness, as a matter of fact. |
