Forget

by Christopher Shin

Forget it all that comes
to me in the past and present.
Because the future isn't near
but a foot step or an ear
shot away.

Forget about love and those
romantic possiblities to
see the green in her eyes
or the ocean captured in
a blink.

Forget about the summer winds,
and the autumn nights laying
huddled under woolen blankets.
Or the sweet smell of perfume
that lingers when she saunters
near you.

Forget about the burning touches
and the silk like lips that
press so softly and hard against
my cracked broken mouth.

Forget about quick breathes
and rapid heart beats as
if you ran a million miles,
and feel that you would explode.

Forget about arrows and chocolates,
and the possiblities of cards on
a day in Feburary.

Forget about it all cause that is what
I have told myself four or five years,
but now I realize that I had my doubts
in the past.

But sadly it has become a reality.
