[heh. warning will robinson] PREHEAT 2:35

by Rachelle Howe

i heated you
by the firelight of
my tongue
and kept you warmed
for those thirty seconds.
i didn't let you burn
on the microwave tray.
i wouldn't let you scald.

i could push all
the right three minute buttons,
i could make sure you tempt'd.
i could turn your dials and
keep you in my oven,

after all, leftovers are
best nuked twice.
