horror blaze

by Michele Schottelkorb

the day was calm

the night was clear

a little spark

commenced the fear

calculated fingers

tossed a match

lit a fire

lives did snatch

a blazing inferno

sweeping through

has no pity

for me or you

all this mayhem

horrific sight

the wind our foe

in this fight

gazing aimlessly

towards the sky

I make a plea

and wonder why

Your short almost staccato verses emphasize the movement and furor of the wildfires. Well expressed.

This is another piece expressing the vagaries of nature. Vagaries, from our point of view, otherwise every event in nature follows a certain rule.Nature doesn't believe in the concept of good or bad, just or unjust. It 'no pity for me or you'.
