Pieced Together for a Picnic (Revised) by Cathlyn CartierBlueberry thread passes through the eye of the needle.
The buzzing voice of machinery drones;
Mother adds a splash of orange to the patchwork shes piecing.
The project finished
A conglomeration of family history;
Packed carefully into a basket;
Unfurled upon the soil at cliffs edge.
Witness the silent waltz of clouds
Across a crimson sky
An evenings repast in nature.
