You Said You Don't Play Games (adult language)

by Quinlan L Gibson

You said you don't play games.
What the hell do you call this?
Blatant contradictions
you expect me to dismiss?
Committing during sex.
I used it to correct.
you god damn knew that I was right.
I slept fine that night.

You said you don't play games.
Then what the hell do you call this?
Acting solid as a rock?
Yet spewing out what-if's.
Guess who's getting scared.
My faith gets more impaired.
and doubt that deep within you?
Do we really need continue?

you said you don't play games.
What the hell do you call this?
Who the fuck were you last night?
And know that I'm still pissed.

Author's Note: Mr. Commitment issue had a breakdown Friday night. This is basically how it went.

Well, let what is determine as to what should be. What is is always pregnant with what should be. The anger charged emotions is visible. Let the emotions subside.

Love, like life, is an infinite game. Rules changes. That's what makes it all so interesting. Sorry for your pain... ;-) ~ S

definitely a piece for spoken word. i second that. the force, the rage, it all bleeds through, but i think is weaker on paper. i read it aloud and the feel was hardcore. :)

and, uh, from someone who has commitment issues like whoa, lemme tell ya, just bear with him. he'll come around.

This is what I would term an "angry poem" (and yes, for many in this category, it is a vast understatement). Yikes, and makes me glad that wrath is not directed at me. Whew.

Hey Quin, this is awesome. Great flow and what an impact!

Yes, I've found that the best way to hold on to a relationship is to pretend you don't like the person at all whatsoever. I don't know why. Anyway, great poem, and I hope everything works out.
