Ariel Mackin's Reflections (reworked)

by Kimberly Bare

water dancing on pebbles
so gracefully
a private performance
just for me

flickering flashes of light
against stone
brightening briefly
the golden edge shown

swirling reflections
fill up my eyes
a leaf fights for freedom
as a slick serpent slides

serenely surrounded
am I
by rippling river
and wide open sky
