untitled

by Beth K Hannah

Twenty five seconds are all I have
To let my world orbit yours
Soft eyes
Jagged skin
Sunlight hair
And a blue paradise I want to hold in my hand.

In these unearthly scatters of time
I find my second hand stalling
Life is another plane
The white flag in my heart
Stands ready to salute...brazenly.

You were never so beautiful
But I wait until sunset
To clasp the locket around my ankle.
It digs into my skin when I sleep
Reminding me of my search for heroes
And glorious summer breezes.
The spider web of my existence
Is as reliable as the tides.
Every minute of every day,
You are my silent content.

*snickers* And you weren't killed for it by Mack? How amazing...
