don't bother angel

by Cymbre Dolphay

yesterday is just so tomorrow
only amazing for a scant instant
unless you happen to
remember it forever hereafter

let's pretend we are indifferent to the
infatuation that's flying
pointedly at our shielded skin,
stinging only very slightly
taking tiny shards of the metal
into it's flight of feigned
contempt, that's not exactly
keeping us apart as planned

I want tomorrow to last forever
so that I can hold you until yesterday

can we get away from this forced
attempt at being civil
lest our hormones get out of hand
leading us into something we'll regret
in the very near past,
now let's end this game of riddles, unless
games are all we're willing to play

Author's Note: I had that little bit of a lyric stuck in my head for the longest time.

Great manipulation of time. The word play is excellent and I must admit the acrostic is exemplary!
