No, they do not just drop;
they roll, they flow, they rush,
a raging torrent of ink
assaulting the helpless page,
bubbling, frothing over themselves,
waves across the measured lines,
tumbling, flowing, slowing,
and finally calming, settling,
finding resting places in lines,
verses, pages, and novels
that stand testament to themselves
and the riotous journey that began
with a dropping from the pen.
