Darkness; The moles best friend

by Aaron Howard

Dark, So dark this tunnel called home.
Hearing the humans above and me all alone.
In my underground lair, away from the everyday bustle.
Hearing them and their everyday hustle.

God granted me freedom from their everyday pain
in my lair smelling of earth and rain.
Where I sit and dream my days away
without a worry or a care to pay.

I dig deep into my mother called home
and in an aspect I'm not really alone.
For I know that my home is safety, my home is dark.
Where I live underneath the humans park.

I know not of pity or that of remorse,
as I dig my not so steady course.
Digging and dreaming my day away.
I sit down here and keep their pain away.
No need to worry about the world above
for down here in the darkness, I'm in love.
Home this is this path of earth.
For you don't really see it for what it's worth
No money, No work, No pain, no shame
to me it's all tunnels and a game.
A game of sleep and dig for food
but I'm sure you just consider it lewd.
For me to scurry here in the dark
while you bask in the sun up in that park.
Well that's all you've come to know
and your misunderstandings sure do show.

You can't understand the freedom of no materials
and live like one with earth like the animals.
