Cold in hell

by Aaron Howard

My little wing has left me for winter.
A smile and a tear couldn't make me bitter.
For all the joy she brought to me
and as Jimmy said it was all for free.
She taught me what it was like to be held.
Something new that I had never felt.
Before I knew what I had
She and it were gone and I was left sad
at my loss of faith and devotion.
My long swim through this dark ocean.
A downward spiral in my happiness desire.
For in my Arctic days she's my nights fire.
So on my empty bed I'll have to dwell.
Strange how cold it can be in hell.
