in sweet salinity

by Jessica Yen

s   c   r   e   a   m   ing
     for salvation
  because i am drowning

suffocating in this vat
of bittersweet saline sea
      --the embodiment of you

i can taste it on my skin
     y o u r  flesh
surrounding me

my eyes are sinking
conjuring up false oases
into the oblivion; i must let go

i'm d  r  ow  n  in  g in the ocean of you.
