the blind leading the blind. by Olivia Weinkeinthere are birds of necessity that will
never fail to amuse me and the last time
i spoke your name aloud, i was only
talking to myself again.
it is on nights like these when the moon
is the only pulse real enough to touch
that i realize you will forever stumble
around the words i create to slap you
with, to find you with and that i will
never own an ocean deep enough to
drown you in. it's all so very pretty if
you give it enough thought to work with.
and yes, i'm crawling around you, on
you, inside of your skin but you know
how this goes and i'm so very dirty from
all of the people i have been.
i cannot keep this rhythm forever every
time your heart skips a beat and i find
unexpected company in that second of
silence. this is my violence. this is how i
keep you chained. now kiss me, love
before i fall awake.
