topic: doomsday lady serenade

by Rachelle Howe

the pinpricks were succulent.
i felt the needles insert themselves
into the stitches of my eyes.
i had been a catacomb,
these runways still leaving
tread marks upon my back and
lower abdomen.

you were birthed
from ageless intentions
and samson strength.
the walls of the temple came
tumbling down and you had been
crushed. skull, legs, and weight.
i watched the blood flow.
it was erotic to this mind's eye.

you cried --
woe is me, Armageddon is coming! --
each note a shrill.
i buried myself in your skin,
after you awoke the second time.

welcome to the world, i said;
took you by the hand and felt
your fingers crumble to dust.

yes, my dear child
the end is near.

Unbelievably quick, and of course, full of frightening imagery.

Record time again? So you must be getting down to about 2 or 3 seconds? :) I'm so very impressed at how quick your creative gears can turn. Apocalyptic themes tend to weight heavily on my mind at times, so this is darkly enjoyable for me. I do adore it.
