The Crow and the Swan

by Siri Lipscomb

Are you the mystical lover?
Are you the man in the mist?
Are you the dream who left me
Before I wakened to find
I’d been kissed?
Was it you as the crow
In the shafts of light
Who joined me for a tryst?
Are you the possibility
Of things I thought I would miss?
Alleluia

You are the crow I am the swan
We are the mask and the mirror
I don’t know your secrets
But you know my truths
Reality becoming clear

Was it you who kissed me
So softly, so gently
I felt you as a ghost?
Or the angel I feared
I might never deserve again
Sent by the heavenly host?
Alleluia

You are the mask I am the mirror
We are the stars and the moon
I don’t know your secrets
But you know my truths
Reality coming here soon
Alleluia, alleluia
Reality coming here soon
