i should have just said "yeah"

by Olivia Weinkein

what to do when ghosts from the past come back
and land in your lap armed with promises and dangerous
with intent.
hadn't we finished that chapter of our lives, hadn't we learned
the first time.

well, apparently not, because i've begun to dream in technicolor
again with your name on my lips and all of the things i could do
to you resting somewhere between my hands and my hips.

boy you've brought the true feel of october with you and i'm
warmer than i should ever allow myself to be.
but
it's too late. i am beginning to see you in fractions of lips and
tongue, arms and oh, you know the one.
but also, in love.
i am beginning to see you in love.

with me.

Hope taintd with a jaded cynism that has the expectation of failure, but forward motion nonetheless. Great read.
