a few moments...
my wishes delivered
a new file created
and named after me!
my pretentions enshrined
in sham ceremonials

a few minutes...
such delicate lines
suggestive of content
as her body develops
precise measured feet
and those cute little digits
are character building
an ego trip ticking
in time to be saved

a few hours...
and
oh laura!
a crash
a disaster
trash trashed
my world disinvented
my lovechild fragmented
flatlined, disconnected
by virtue of virtual rote;
but a terminal state?
was it up for debate
in my last untyped note?

a few days have passed...
and my work is complete
a new piece to be posted
replete with a message
designed to remind me
that dramas soon pass
in the shadow of tragedy

too few are the times
i have opened my eyes
to appraise my perspective
appreciate life
and be thankful
this was
for a while,
just a sad loss of fiLe
