Breathe, and dont forget to blink .. by Jolie JordanThey make rounded fists
and submerge {what is left}
into the light.
they're grasping onto hope
but we know
{we know}
there is nothing left.
I'm trying..
I'm clutching sullen breaths
gasping for something
something that isnt false.
I find comfort in untrue liquid
the equivalent you initiated.
and I hope {I fucking hope}
that it was good for you.
that it was worth all this.
that it was incredible,
fantastic and unbelievable
and whatever else would
make alot of sense right now.
Because I cant think
Because I cant breathe
Because I'm wondering
just where it is that you will be.
{10.12.03}
you will conclude
and burst into remnants.
And tomorrow
I know your mother will collapse
as they shoot you off into the stars. 10/11/2003 Author's Note: I just found out that someone I use to know overdosed, and there is nothing left that can be done. all that is left, all that is beating, is a heart. tomorrow they pull the plug.

Posted by Richard Paez on 10/13/03 at 01:38 AM When i first started reading this, my impression was that the speaker is hurting over a lost lover, but the date and the last line made it clear that it is about a different kind of lost love, the worst kind of loss. This is beautiful and restless and painful and bitter, very well written, and a sincere tribute to your friend. I am sorry that you lost someone you cared for and loved. I can only begin to imagine how painful it must have been to write this. Thank you for sharing it. {m} |
