Jessica's Witch by Kate DemereeWith raven tresses and eyes of green A mouth that's cruel, and a heart that's mean She has a nose that's like a beak And a large black mole upon her cheek A pointy hat is just her style One that's bent will make her smile She lives for the time of the harvest moon When she can safely ride her broom She likes to know where her prey is at For this purpose she keeps the cat When she goes abroad this night It will be her maiden flight She cackles softly to herself Grabs her hat from off the shelf Plucks a whisker from off her chin Smiles
her wicked grin Gives a wiggle of her hips Slides her tongue along her lips Waves a hand with magicians flair Breathes a spell into the air What you see isn't what you'll get This is a glamour you can bet The eyes are hazel
the hair is red All of the bad seems to have fled Oh,
she knows what she's about That's the reason she is going out Out into the darkest night To stalk the prey before the flight Next time you look you'd best beware Where you walk best have a care For she is out there hunting yet Don't let it be your soul she'll get

Posted by Michelle Calhoun on 10/10/03 at 07:51 PM Now take that back, you knew you could do it and you did. A wonderful tribute to Halloween. I am going to have my kids read it when they get home. They will love it. Good work Kate. And I feel truly honoured to be the first to comment. *Smiles and Hugs* |
Posted by JD Clay on 10/11/03 at 11:55 AM I think I know her. That bent nose gives it away every time, hehe! Good stuff, Kate. Witches most be difficult to portray, especially coming from an Angel like you. But then again, it is a full moon.

Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 10/13/03 at 07:03 PM Somehow you've given this witch enough charm that she doesn't seem liked she'd harm, maybe that should send out an alarm!
She seems very much like Halloween! A good read aloud to younguns.
