To Paint A Mind

by Christopher Shin

Blue and green mix together
in a sea of water colors.
Burning yet turning into
a color of my own desire.
I hope it isn't indigo,
cause it's to harsh a color
for me.

I smile slowly as the
world melts into place from
the mixtures of paint and care.
I smile as red comes in
to bring us the emotions
of long past days.

I hope there maybe orange
to remind us of the Autumn
days of our joy filled youth.
I shutter to think that
black would be added for
maybe we could put that last.

I don't know what the world
brings but I do know that
black and white are just
to horrible a color to
add into a world of beauty.

Maybe green or purple.
Or maybe some color of hopes
and dreams of winters and springs.
Maybe a dash of dreams of
long forgotten lover's kisses.

As I settle down on my bench
in the cool Autumn day I see
a painting of my world
all around me.
