A Reluctant Climax (PG13)

by Mainon A Schwartz

I hate how you
................manipulate me with music
................especially the cliché variety

This says, “cry”
................this says, “hold your breath”
But I don’t care
................enough to cooperate

I wonder if you
................treat your women this way
................dictating emotion, tick by tock

Not to be graphic
................but this is like oral sex
........................on the first date
........................without foreplay
................and you expect me to come

Your tongue is invasive
................too soggy, too flaccid
................I can’t concentrate

I can’t respond
................that quickly, that strongly
........................it irritates, it chafes
................more than it pleases

You’ve tried angles
................of licking, sucking, teasing
................but I’m more annoyed than aroused

Still, I recognize
................that you’re making an effort
................and I might someday desire
................another attempt

So I suppose I’ll fake
........................my enthusiasm

{Cue heroic music}

the word play is definitely heroic and sublime. :) it's like oral sex, the more you tease, the more i get turned on. *GRIN!* well done!

Definitely an interesting read, the form is especially creative, methinks. You've very effectively conveyed that shallow feel of emotional manipulation that can come of uncaring relationships. So it's especially intriguing when coming across the line about wanting to try again someday, saying that we're all in it for ourselves at some point.
