Enjoy The Harvest

by Kate Demeree

Come here my sister and sing me a tune…
As I dance beneath the harvest moon
We shall watch the night birds fly
Here beneath the harvest sky
Whilst others shiver and cower within
We sing and dance in the harvest wind
Across the fields we will roam…
You and I to our harvest home.
For we shall sail the darkest sky
We become the harvest you and I
With hair of gold and russet brown
We dance on through the harvest town
With skin of ivory shinning bright
We dance through out the harvest night
For when the sun comes calling round
Our harvest selves can not be found.

An exceptional piece that sets the mood for this autumn season. Full of motion and emotion, it is beautiful, earthy, and natural. Blessings!

this is like the blooming of a flower and the ripening of fruit! It's full of a woman's touch...thus well respected.

This is like a harvest song. So natural and down to earth.Full of life.

Excellent writing. Brilliant imagery. Almost an impish quality here. I really enjoyed reading this.

Really beautiful Kate, with a subdued passion and surely does fit the season wonderfully.

Excellent work!!!! I love the wonderful use of nature and vivid imagery. A great harvest poem. And one of my favourites.

So fitting the season. A wonderful read aloud. "Let's ride with the wind in misty cloud Hearing the whispers and whimpering sound Of harvest night's darkened gloom As we gaily dance in the harvest room."
