Tests

by Christopher Shin

I walk out the front door,
and hold the small container
that has my afternoon meal.
The world is still dark today,
and it is still the morning
day.

And I think to myself like I
always do before I head out
to greet the dreary weary day,
and it is a simple thougtht.
A thought that I think people
would enjoy if I mentioned it to
them.

Maybe they would think I was deep
or maybe I could possible be
some what of an inspiration.
I shake my head and sigh.
A lesson before dying lingers
in my mind.

We all strive to get to the end,
but sometimes we over look what
is in front of us every day.
We are all in a hurry to grow
and learn from the world around us.
Yet when we grow closer to the end
we stop in mid run to realize
that time is not our ally.

Have we learned and our true calling
in this rat race of a world?
Can we trully say that we have
thoroughly understood the meaning
to our existance in this state of mind?
I guess we are all in a hurry to reach
the end.

Maybe all answers can be answered at
the end of our own time.
But now put your pencils down and hand
your test answers to the front.
