Urbane Mists

by Laura Doom

Wisp adrift, the rumour cloud
draws deft facades in anti-matter
nullifying idle chatter
conversation dies away

Draughts of withered shadows play
in loud charades, a double feature
innocence, the bitter sweetener
pays the piper in advance

Drunks and dusky demons dance
delicious classic coalition
derelicts for demolition
crash connections through the night

Drones of fantasy in flight
derail the pantomime express
to spite this time in pointlessness
no reason for the rhyme we wring

Dubious intentions spring
unerring from my private speaker
preaching while the pleasure seeker
circulates above the crowd

Your use of alliteration as Cassie says is simply yummy. Such a delightfully evocative piece :)
