getting real

by Bet Yeldem

my reality is missing
missing him
missing you
missing her
missing me
my reality is missing
missing the thing
that makes most people enjoy life
what is that thing
missing
determination, reason, purpose
i have to concentrate just to breathe
my reality is missing
missing touch
missing sound
missing smell
missing taste
everything is grey
smoke and mirror living is choking me
and i hate what they see
in me
the living lie
they never see the hole
the part of me that's missing

I feel like the flow of this poem would have been better if you broken it into stanzas, with the line "my reality is missing". Overall though, this is a very emotional and poignant poem. If this is written about yourself, I hope that your reality is soon found.
