Narcoleptic Dream

by Traci Mabats

She stands beneath
the burning water
writes her memiors in the steam
she lays back in the
shallow depths
her hair forming
suicides halo
as she dreams
of a time when
she wasn't stuck
on a one way road
but in an open field
beneath the wide open skies
under the stars
where she can pick flowers
and walk for hours
And she doesn't want to open her eyes
because she knows
reality is there
waiting for her
on the other side
of her lids

'reality is there waiting for her on the other side of her lids'...Like a buffer between being and nothingness. Beautiful.
