POTD (contains the F-bomb) by Madeline PestolesiLike their predecessors, The opulent clouds Exploded in an extasy of movement And the crystaline forms Etched their shape into my inner being.
What The Fuck Does That Mean?
An original stanza: Yet its twins Are featured: And featured Daily. A never-ending example Of the empty words Filling up the home page.
Beautiful words yes, But filled with inner-meaning? No, Usually not.
Please show me something That means anything To someone, And stop assailing my senses With the bimbo words. 09/24/2003 Posted on 09/25/2003 Copyright © 2026 Madeline Pestolesi

Posted by Vikki Owens on 09/25/03 at 04:21 AM exactly. not only do i agree, but your poem is mechanically fine. i love 'bimbo words', so descriptive of so many of the potd entrys. most of them, i dont even get past the first two lines....
Posted by Quinlan L Gibson on 11/13/03 at 11:22 PM hmmm...i was just having that conversation with someone else who agrees the other day.
Posted by Jolie Jordan on 03/01/04 at 01:25 AM Ah... you don't know how much I love this. I use to like all that "pretty" stuff that made no sense, but then again I was young.. and didn't really know much about anything. and now.. I just want to feel something when I read someones writing. I want to feel it, that they felt when writing. or something like that;) anyway, this is going on my faves.

Posted by Mike Loftis on 09/12/04 at 04:44 AM Amen. Gutsy poem and well stated.
Posted by Indigo Tempesta on 02/07/05 at 01:18 AM interesting thought, reminiscent of a conversation that we had [and got into something of a mess for] in the new beat forum a few weeks ago. my thoughts are: a) it's interesting, and perhaps useless, to speculate on whether a poem means anything to anybody... b) i think this poem could use a lot more in the way of images to tell, rather than telling itself. maybe get rid of some of the filler words [mainly 'and's] and much of the abstract language [like "inner-meaning.] but, as has been said, provocative and interesting. thanks for sharing, dear!
Posted by Traci Mabats on 04/26/05 at 02:49 AM OMG @ bimbo words. That's so true it hurts.
Posted by Richard Vince on 02/13/07 at 12:39 AM mm. well done. most of the time i don't bother reading them, i'm afraid. no doubt there are people who feel similarly about my work, but. i know they were real when i wrote them.
