i will not succumb (the man on my shoulder) by Melinda Sordinowhy do men always seem
to rule my life and ruin my dreams?
the girls that talk inside my head
warn my soul will wind up dead
but i am weak and follow him
although he makes my future dim
i tell myself time and again
i will not surrender to the lies of men
yet here i am, same time, same place
and with my eyes i see the repugnant face
of the philanderer who now governs my life
the iniquitous one to whom i owe this strife
the one to whom i will always succumb

Posted by Ashok Sharda on 09/27/03 at 06:17 PM Its a honest poem.We all live in a sort of conflict. To be or not to be. Besides we 'own' paradoxical selves. We resolve to do some thing and end up doing the opposite. |
