Merry-go-round (Alice)

by Vikki Owens

How many times have I been here before?
This edge looks familiar,
this freefall seems comfortable
and
soft like an old friend...
I think Im circling inside myself,
I think I've gotten myself turned around,
I cant seem to find my way
around this merry-go-round,
cant seem to step off
this joy ride.
Do I know you, I think we've been introduced...
It seems like I've known you for
a while,
but I cant place
your face...
Maybe we met
over coffee
once
or at a
carnival...

i love the way you started this...however the poem starts to fall apart a little closer to the end...i think it could be stronger to match your intro...

i have to disagree, i think the ending tapers off the air of question in the poem... leaving the reader to ponder with the poet... enthralling piece... blessings...
